Application process: Submit your online application (cover letter and resume) saved as one file with Your Name_ Employer Outreach_Non Profit as the subject heading to email@example.com MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Recruitment, Tracking and Databaseo Recruit employers in the nonprofit sector who are interested in partnering with this project in tool development, job matching, internships, mentorship and attending employer engagement events with internationally trained individuals o Meet with employers / employer representatives individually to determine their hiring needs and potential participation in the project immediately or in the future o Keep a record (through data base and excel spread sheets) of all employers and their interventions with the project o Create a distribution list to connect with employers Employer Engagement Events and Workshopso Invite employers to participate in planned events and workshops o Support in the design and development of workshops, tools and events for employers o Attend job fairs and various recruitment and networking events to source potential employers o Organize joint employer engagement events which brings together employers in the nonprofit sector and internationally trained individuals together Job Matching, Internships and Mentorship Opportunitieso Work with the Employment Counsellor for the Non Profit Sector to identify STAR clients, match clients job and mentorship opportunities in the nonprofit sector, connect and follow up with employers Follow up and reportingo Follow up with employers regularly and record all interventions with employers o Provide weekly and monthly status reports and liaise with project administrative support for any discrepancies Teamworko Execute recruitment tasks through a thorough and collaborative team effort. o Communicate with peers by sharing recruiting "best practices" and providing accurate, documentation on updates with employers o Attend staff meetings, team meetings and other external meetings as required o Perform other duties from time to time, as required by the organization QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES:
post-secondary education and experience in a related field
experience in recruitment, outreach or creating partnerships
background in adult education an asset
experience in facilitation and group presentations
experience in workshop design and tool development an asset
knowledge of immigration and labour market trends
proficiency in English. French is an asset.
strong presentation, writing and organizational skills
strong intercultural and communication skills
sensitivity to, and understanding of, issues of concern to the immigrant community
ability to work effectively as a team member is essential, with excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills, maturity, integrity, initiative and resourcefulness in achieving goals.
effective time management
proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
