Research and Evaluation Coordinator EARN, The Employment Accessibility Resource Network, is an initiative led by United Way Prescott-Russell, Ottawa, Lanark and Renfrew Counties operating as United Way Ottawa that brings together employers, service providers and other stakeholders with a goal of increasing meaningful employment opportunities for people with disabilities and promoting inclusive and accessible workplaces.
Recently, United Way Ottawa and the EARN initiative were provided with a three year grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation to increase opportunities for people with disabilities to become employed.
Reporting to the Manager, Business Development, the Research and Evaluation Coordinator will undertake research in the area of public policy, data analysis and the evaluation of the network’s activities to enhance employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
The Coordinator will oversee all aspects of the projects deliverables including surveys, focus groups, creation of an environmental scan, evidence-based resource tools and a final report.  The Coordinator will work closely with EARN stakeholders and United Way staff.  This is a 35 month full-time contract position.
  • Post-secondary education in appropriate discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience in public policy, social sciences or a related field
  • Proven experience in research or policy analysis
  • Experience in marketing would be considered an asset
  • Experience evaluation programs and making recommendations taking into account evaluation results
  • Proven strong project management skills demonstrated through multiple project management roles
  • Strong problem-solving and collaborative skills, ability to manage competing interests and ambiguities while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated time management skills, the ability to direct both activities and resources through tools such as a crital path
  • Ability to be flexible and stay organized, including the proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Highly motivated, strong initiative and a ‘get it done’ attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Results oriented and a keen eye for detail
  • Flexibility and ability to take initiative
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making often under pressure
  • Experience using Microsoft Office.  Extensive experience with Power Point and Excel
  • Bilingualism is an asset
