Status: Part time position 17.5 h p/w
Reports to: Project Manager

POSITION PURPOSE: World Skills Employment Centre, a not-for-profit employment service for newcomers to Canada, is seeking two highly organized individuals to join our World Skills team as Administrative Assistants.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enters information into centralized profile tracking system and database. Maintains and keeps both electronic and hard copy files up to date
  • Performs data entry processes into a database & verifies and corrects the data as necessary
  • Contributes and works towards preparing reports, administrative records and other publications
  • Provides admin support such as: logistics, registrations, set up, etc. to workshops
  • Posts job postings on website
  • Screens resumes sent for each job and forwards to designated staff and/or employer
  • Participates in outreach activities when required
  • Actively contributes to the efficient functioning of the organization

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Superior proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of a diverse clientele
  • Ability to work within a team environment with an attitude of cooperation and helpfulness is essential
  • Solid knowledge of clerical and general office procedures and office software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Proven flexibility, adaptability, initiative and resourcefulness

The above is normally acquired by completion of a related program or degree plus 2 years of related experience, some of which was obtained in a not-for-profit organization. Equivalencies will be considered.
