Project Name: Roadmap to Employment (RTE)


Job Title: Employer Engagement Facilitator, RTE
Status: Full time (35 hours/week) Contract to March 31, 2018 with possibility of extension

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Recruitment, Tracking and Database
  • Recruit employers who are interested in partnering with World Skills to employ internationally trained individuals with lower levels of English
  • Meet with employers / employer representatives individually to determine their hiring needs and potential participation in the project immediately or in the future
  • Keep a record (through data base and excel spread sheets) of all employers and their interventions with the project
  • Create a distribution list to connect with employers

Employer Engagement Events and Workshops
  • Invite employers to participate in planned events and workshops
  • Attend job fairs and various recruitment and networking events to source potential employers
  • Organize joint employer engagement events which brings together employers and internationally trained individuals

Job Matching, Internships and Mentorship Opportunities
  • Work with RTE Employment Counsellors to identify star clients, match job postings with talent pool, connect and follow up with employers

Follow up and reporting
  • Follow up with employers regularly and record all interventions in the database
  • Provide weekly and monthly status reports and liaise with project administrative support for any discrepancies

Teamwork
  • Execute recruitment tasks through a thorough and collaborative team effort
  • Communicate with peers by sharing recruiting "best practices" and providing accurate documentation on updates with employers
  • Attend staff meetings, team meetings and other external meetings as required
  • Perform other duties from time to time, as required by the organization

QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCIES:
  • post-secondary education and experience in a related field
  • experience in recruitment, outreach or creating partnerships
  • background in adult education an asset
  • experience in facilitation and group presentations
  • knowledge of immigration and labour market trends
  • proficiency in English
  • French and/or Arabic is an asset
  • strong presentation, writing and organizational skills
  • strong intercultural and communication skills
  • sensitivity to, and understanding of, issues of concern to the immigrant community
  • ability to work effectively as a team member is essential, with excellent interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills, maturity, integrity, initiative and resourcefulness in achieving goals
  • effective time management
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
