Position Title: Human Resources Assistant
Reports to: Director, Human Resources
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Assistant will provide comprehensive support to the daily operations of the HR team, contributing to the efficient and professional delivery of HR programs, processes and services across the organization.
Responsibilities
  • Support the full recruitment cycle: updates job position profiles, prepares job postings, collects and reviews resumes, performs pre-screening, coordinates interviews and tests, and checks references
  • Perform onboarding of new employees by conducting orientations and updating relevant HR records and files
  • Answer basic inquiries from employees
  • Perform general administrative duties such as data entry, filing, minute taking, meeting scheduling, coordinating training sessions, leave administration including accruals and tracking
  • Conduct training presentations for new hires
  • Administer benefits plan including enrolments, changes, and terminations.
  • Conduct HR research and analysis as assigned
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of staff events
  • Sits as member of the Social Committee
  • Other duties, as assigned

Education and Experience
  • University graduate or college graduate with CHRP designation
  • 3 to 5 years experience in Human Resources with an emphasis in recruitment
  • Demonstrated experience taking initiative and being proactive
  • Recent experience providing administrative support services in a busy environment
  • Experience using online recruitment techniques and tools
  • Client service orientation
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent ability to multitask with multiple competing deadlines
  • Ability and proven track record of working in teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – including Excel
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Familiarity with the Ontario Employment Standards Act and Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act
  • Proven track record of taking responsibility, and using good judgment and discretion with matters of confidentiality
  • Experience working in a professional environment is preferred
