Job Type: Full-time (35 hours/week), Indeterminate

Pay Band: Program/Service Coordinator, $32.70-$39.40/hour

Job Summary

The Coordinator oversees the ongoing planning, development and support for the volunteer program at the Centre and the student placements across the Centre. The Coordinator also plans and executes fundraising events and initiatives, researches and identifies potential donors that will enhance the strategic goals of the organization, and liaises with local businesses, business groups/associations, and key community stakeholders.
The Coordinator works in partnership with all program areas.  S/he also provides support to community development/health promotion volunteer activities across the Centre.



  • Certificate in volunteer management.
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of some post-secondary education and significant related experience.
  • Three to five years experience in group leadership, supervision, supporting volunteers and student placements.
  • Experience in event planning and fundraising.
  • Proven experience in health, social services, and education.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, teamwork and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with individuals from differing social and cultural backgrounds
  • Experience in community engagement and mobilization and demonstrated abilities in outreach and community engagement
  • Experience in program development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation
  • Experience working with marginalized populations
  • Experience in developing and maintaining partnerships
  • Proficiency with computer software essential.
  • Valid drivers’ license and access to a vehicle an asset.

  • English, written and spoken, essential
