Non-profit Employer Engagement Project (NEEP)


The Nonprofit Employer Engagement Program (NEEP) is aimed at promoting the nonprofit sector in Ottawa to newcomer job seekers, and to encourage them to consider mentorship and employment within the sector,  in support of their path to integration.

The NEEP team is actively working with local employers to promote mentorship and employment opportunities within their organizations, and to screen and refer qualified and motivated applicants for current and upcoming vacancies.

The benefits of participation for job seekers include:

  • access to postings and support to apply for jobs and paid internships
  • mentorship opportunities with nonprofit sector employers
  • participation in targeted workshops and information sessions  to learn how to be competitive in job applications
  • invitations to exclusive coaching and networking events

In order to qualify for participation in the program, you must:

  • Be internationally educated (college diploma and/or university degree from abroad)
  • Be a Permanent Resident or foreign born Canadian Citizen, living in Ontario
  • Have a recent (within the past 12 months) Canadian Language Benchmark score of 7+ in each skill (or IELTS-General test, with a score of 6+ in each skill)
  • Be unemployed or underemployed
  • Have a resume, clear job objective or career goal
  • Have excellent communication, presentation and interview skills

To apply for the program, follow the steps below:

a) If you are already a client of World Skills Employment Centre and meet the eligibility above, kindly contact your employment counsellor of job match specialist and ask for a referral to the NEEP program.

b) If you are not yet a client of World Skills, please contact or call 613 233-0453 Ext. 300 to book an appointment to meet with an intake staff.
