On November 30, 2017 World Skills Employment Centre and Hire Immigrants Ottawa in collaboration with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) organized a learning and coaching event for newcomer job seekers who are interested in working for the Public Sector.
The event took place at City Hall. The first part consisted of an expert panel where four panelists shared tips and advice regarding recruitment and hiring best practices in the public sector with over 30 internationally trained professionals.
Thank you very much to the House of Commons of Canada, Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC), Ontario Public Service and IRCC represented by the Federal Internship for Newcomers Program (FINP) for supporting our clients in their search to becoming public servants in Canada.
For the coaching part of the event, Hire Immigrants Ottawa brought in 11 coaches who met individually with avid job seekers to provide feedback on their resumes, to answers questions about recruitment in the public sector and other relevant employment-related topics.
We’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to these great organizations for supporting the integration of newcomers into the local economy! Your efforts and actions do make a difference.
