DESCRIPTION:Are you a visible minority newcomer woman who is UNDEREMPLOYED? Are you working in a survival job or in a job which is below your capacity? \nWould you like to receive help to: \nDevelop a plan to manage your career?\nSeek opportunities to gain a promotion or advance your skills? \nExpand your professional network?\nIncrease your confidence in applying to more appropriate jobs to match your qualifications and skills? \nAdvance your overall job search strategy to increase your chances of success? \nIf you need help in any of these areas\, our program Empowering Visible Minority Newcomer Women is here to help you. \nThe overall goal of the ENW program is to support Visible Minority Newcomer Women (VMNW) in their successful transition to the labour market. \nThe Information Session will provide you with more details about the ENW program. \nPlease make sure that you meet the eligibility requirements. \nTo be eligible for the Empowering Newcomer Women (ENW) program\, you must: \n• be UNDEREMPLOYED\n• identify as a visible minority newcomer woman;\n• be a Permanent resident of Canada or Convention refugee with valid work permit;\n• meet the minimum level of CLB 7 in each language ability (speaking\, reading\, writing and listening);\n• be a resident of the City of Ottawa; \nDate: Oct. 19\, 2021 (Tue) \nTime: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM \nEmail: nadiya@ottawa-worldskills.org  \nNote: A day before the event\, registrants will receive a Zoom link to the event. \nThis initiative is a part of the national research pilot project “The Career Pathways for Visible Minority Newcomer Women (CPVMNW)” with the Social Research and Demonstration Corporation (SRDC)\, which is funded by Immigration\, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
