SUMMARY:Resume Writing for Newcomer Job Seekers
DESCRIPTION:Are you a newcomer looking for work? \nDo you need help to improve your resume? \nIf you answered yes\, come to this event! \nThe purpose of this workshop is to provide participants with tools and guidance to build an effective resume in support of their job search. Specific learning outcomes will include: \n\nRecognize the purpose of a resume as a marketing tool\nEstablish a practice for creating a master resume\nDevelop effective content to outline experience and background\nUnderstand the structure and purpose of accomplishment statements\nIdentify three primary layouts of a resume\nReview what to include and not to include in a resume\nShare learnings with peers to foster further reflection and practice\n\nThis will be a three-hour\, single session aimed at providing participants with information on resume development. The session is planned as a single offering however\, we may provide value for additional groups including Resume Clinic support. \nOur presenter will be Suzanne Knight who has over 15 years of local experience in different areas of Human Resources such as talent acquisition\, health and wellness\, on-boarding\, performance management among many others. \nTo be able to attend\, REGISTER HERE!
