Job Referral and Matching

World Skills has partnerships with more than 100 Ottawa employers who are interested in hiring internationally trained professionals. These employers submit job postings directly to World Skills Ottawa Job Match Network (OJMN) service. Thousands of registered clients have found work through the OJMN job referral and matching service.

Professionals that are assessed as ready for the Canadian workforce are eligible for job referral and matching. For some, this readiness will be attained during your first assessment at World Skills and for others, readiness will be achieved after completing recommended programs.

A two-hour Advanced Workplace Readiness support workshop is held every month. Other services include:

  • Employer information sessions, networking and coaching events.
  • Application support for key employment opportunities, such as the Federal Internship for Newcomers Program.
  • Job interview practice with local industry professionals.
  • Assistance with resume tailoring for specific positions.

We know from our own experience that finding a suitable job in Canada is only half the work. Learning the workplace culture and fitting in continues to be important once you’re working. That’s why World Skills offers post-recruitment support to both employers and newly-hired internationally trained professionals.

Accessing World Skills’ job referral and matching program starts with a personalized assessment of your education, experience and goals. Together we then plan your next steps. To schedule an appointment please Fill-out the contact us form to book an appointment..
