SUMMARY:Accenture-World Skills Mentorship Program Partnership Celebrating it’s 5th year Anniversary
DESCRIPTION:June 10 – What a night it was! Accenture and World Skills pulled out all the stops to celebrate the 5th anniversary of their pioneering and highly successful mentorship program. Of course\, it was virtual but the excitement and enthusiasm were palpable as old acquaintances revisited great memories and caught up on their careers since their mentorships. \n\nhttps://ottawa-worldskills.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/ACWS_5-O_Trim.mp4\n  \nHighlights included a stunningly creative video retrospective of the 10 cohorts of the program. In all\, 139 World Skills clients have completed the program. Of these\, 53 — and counting\, have found meaningful jobs and cite their mentorship as a big part of getting these jobs. The cohort that just graduated was the largest ever with 33 mentorships! \n  \n“Mentorship is key to long-term success and career progression and it is important that those who receive mentoring support\, pay it forward by supporting others. And those who give of their time to mentor others receive deep personal rewards for their generosity\,” noted Gemma Follini\, who has managed World Skills’ side of the partnership from the beginning. \n  \nOver the past five years\, 82 Accenture managers and senior professionals have given well over 500 hours of their time. \n  \nLisa Nguyen\, Accenture’s program manager for the past two years\, reflected on “pathways to success” for effective mentorships and consultants: find impactful work\, own the solution\, stay curious\, improve continuously\, take care of yourself – and agree on “done”. \n  \nThis program has tremendously benefited World Skills clients from the IT industry. Building on this success\, and the lessons learned achieving it\, World Skills will be reaching out to industry leaders in other sectors also.
