Accessing our services starts with a personalized assessment of your education, experience and career goals. We can then recommend the best programs, workshops or services that will help you start your career in Canada.

Career Access for Newcomers Workshop (CAN)
Delivered over six days, in English only, the Career Access for Newcomers (CAN) Workshop offers a group-based learning environment where job seekers have the opportunity to learn and practice the skills needed to undertake a successful job search in Canada. Graduates of CAN have access to ongoing employment counselling support.

Workplace Language Training (WLT)
Workplace Language Training (WLT) courses focus on English language communication skills needed to meet the expectations of the Canadian professional workplace. Each program connects language and content to ensure that course objectives are relevant and meaningful to participants. Language and essential skills are scaffolded to meet the complexities of communication in the workplace.

Empowering Racialized Newcomer Women (ERNW)
The Empowering Racialized Newcomer Women (ERNW) Program, developed by World Skills and funded by IRCC, in partnership with Immigrant Women Services Ottawa (IWSO), is an innovative initiative dedicated to facilitating the integration of racialized newcomer women into the Canadian labour market. The ERNW program remains committed to empowering racialized newcomer women by addressing the specific challenges they face, thereby breaking down barriers to employment.

The Health Employment Network (H.E.N.)
Provides comprehensive employment preparation for International Health Professionals to help bridge participants to jobs in non-regulated health care roles
These services assist IHPs in accessing alternative employment in the health sector that makes effective use of their skills.

Credential Recognition Program (CRP)
The Credential Recognition Program is delivered in partnership through Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF), Lebanese and Arab Social Services Agency (LASSA), World Skills (WS) and Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO).
Throughout your Credential Recognition journey, you may find yourself working with several/all of these organizations as your needs change – the program is designed to allow you to take advantage of the supports when you need them.

Talent to Employment and Matching Services (TEMS)
The Talent to Employment Matching System (TEMS) is a key service within our Employer Engagement program that connects Ottawa employers with qualified internationally trained professionals. TEMS streamlines the recruitment process by matching employer needs with skilled candidates, supporting inclusive hiring and workforce integration.

Settlement Online Pre-Arrival (SOPA)
Settlement Online Pre-Arrival (SOPA) is an Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship Canada (IRCC) funded program that delivers free pre-arrival services for job readiness, success and retention.

IBM SkillsBuild Program
The Credential Recognition Program is delivered in partnership through Ottawa Community Loan Fund (OCLF), Lebanese and Arab Social Services Agency (LASSA), World Skills (WS) and Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization (OCISO).
