Practice. Receive feedback. Build confidence.
Interview Roulette is one of World Skills’ most popular interview preparation activities. It gives you the opportunity to practice your interview skills with experienced volunteer professionals who understand Canadian hiring practices and want to help you succeed.
Whether you have your first interview in Canada coming up or simply want to improve your interviewing skills, this activity provides a safe and supportive environment where you can practice, learn, and grow.

How it works
During the session, you will participate in one or more mock interviews based on a job description that matches your career goals. You will answer questions similar to those you may encounter during a real interview while volunteer interview coaches observe your responses and provide personalized feedback.
Because you will rotate through different interviewers, you will receive diverse perspectives and coaching styles—helping you become more comfortable and adaptable in different interview situations.

What you’ll learn
Our volunteer interview coaches will help you:
Tailor your answers to the requirements of a specific job posting.
Structure your responses using proven techniques such as the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
Effectively communicate your skills, qualifications, and international experience.
Showcase your transferable skills and professional accomplishments.
Improve your confidence, communication style, and professional presence.
Understand what Canadian employers look for during an interview.
Identify opportunities to strengthen your answers before a real interview.

Why participate?
Interviewing is a skill that improves with practice. Interview Roulette allows you to gain real interview experience without the pressure of an actual job interview. You’ll receive honest, constructive feedback that can help you refine your approach, avoid common mistakes, and present yourself more effectively to employers.
Many participants tell us that this activity helps them feel more confident, better prepared, and more comfortable speaking about their experience during interviews.

Who can participate?
Interview Roulette is designed for internationally trained professionals and newcomers who are actively preparing for interviews and are ready to practice using a job description relevant to their career goals.
Come prepared to learn, ask questions, and make the most of this unique opportunity to practice with professionals who are committed to helping newcomers succeed.
