After being registered as client of World Skills, I was offered various service from World Skills, particularly the Job Search workshop held by Barbara Xiao.
I gained the skills and techniques which help me to understand the employment environment of Canada, to get myself prepared for the coming job hunting, to explore more professional possibilities and more important, I became more confident and patient, knowing that there is someone standing behind and supporting me. This feeling makes me feel reassured. I participated in the job-hunting workshop, during which the tutor Barbara Xiao shared with us numerous interview skills, learning examples and precious experience, with plenty of group discussion, view observation which trained me and equipped me with those I need to deal with the coming interviews.
Additionally, she encouraged us to initiate the job searching and networking which are vital in Canadian culture. I gained a lot from this workshop, and it made me a person who is more confident and ready to face the challenges. I am currently working part-time as Sales and Client Relation Representative, I get a full-time job offer as Settlement Counsellor.
