Our Commitment

World Skills is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, accessible, respectful, and inclusive environment for all clients, staff, volunteers, and visitors. We value diversity and recognize that everyone brings different backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and needs.

To ensure a positive experience for everyone, we ask all clients to follow these expectations when participating in World Skills programs, services, workshops, and events, whether in person or virtually.

Your Responsibilities as a Client

  • Treat other clients, fellow participants, staff, volunteers, and guests with courtesy, dignity, and respect.
  • Respect differences in culture, religion, language, accents, abilities, identities, beliefs, and lived experiences.
  • Refrain from abusive or disruptive behaviours including but not limited to harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threats, bullying, personal attacks, unwelcome advances or comments, offensive or rude language, including verbal and written communication.
  • Express opinions, questions, disagreements, and feedback constructively, without targeting individuals or making assumptions about others.
  • Follow reasonable facilitator instructions, allow others to participate, and contribute to a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Use virtual platforms, workshop chats, breakout rooms, and other communication tools respectfully and for their intended purposes. Follow facilitators’ instructions and housekeeping rules.
  • Respect privacy and confidentiality. Do not record, transcribe, photograph, or share information about others without appropriate permission and in accordance with session rules.
  • Respect personal and professional boundaries, including the right of others to participate without unwanted attention or pressure.
  • Raise concerns or complaints respectfully through World Skills staff or established complaint resolution channels.
  • Make your best effort to attend scheduled appointments, workshops, and events. Notify World Skills in advance if you cannot attend, or as soon as reasonably possible afterward.

When Expectations are not Met

World Skills does not tolerate harassment, discrimination, threats, or behaviour that compromises the safety, dignity, or well-being of others.

Depending on the circumstances, staff may provide a reminder or warning, remove a participant from a virtual session, or ask a participant to leave an in-person activity. Serious incidents may result in immediate removal.

Repeated or serious violations may result in restrictions on participation, up to and including discontinuation of services, following management review and consideration of applicable accessibility and human rights obligations.

Our Shared Commitment

World Skills welcomes respectful differences of opinion, constructive feedback, and requests for accommodation. Clients may raise concerns or complaints without fear of retaliation.

Thank you for helping make World Skills a place where everyone can learn, connect and feel welcome.
