House of Commons Administration Information Session & Targeted Recruitment Event
The House of Commons Administration and World Skills held a very detailed information session for ENW participants, giving an inside look at The Hill & its Parliamentary Partners.
The House of Commons provides services to Parliament members for them to carry out their work on Parliament Hill and in their constituencies. Duties include daily publications, technological connectivity, and ensuring the Parliamentary Precinct is secure and equipped for several different activities.
“The event provided a lot of information about the recruitment process in the House of Commons and facilitated good networking and connection opportunities with HR officers in the House of Commons.” – ENW Participant
As one of the Capital Regions’ top employers for the 4th consecutive year, our guest speaker Allison Janota touched on career opportunities and interview expectations with the HoC Administration. Current positions can be accessed through their Career Portal, which lists eligibility requirements to apply. Allison emphasized the importance of a Competency Profile, the best method to record your knowledge, skills, qualities, and attitudes required to perform well in a particular job.
“This is a great opportunity to meet Allison from House of Commons; she is very professional and patient, I got a lot of information by attending the event. Thank you, Fatima, from World Skills for organizing this session.” – ENW Participant
Thank you to Allison for providing incredible insight and answering each question with great detail!
