Congratulations to the Graduates!
It was a great day yesterday, November 14 for diversity and inclusion as we celebrated immigrants who are helping to shape the Canadian public service through the Federal Internship for Newcomers (FIN) Program.
The FIN Program team held the graduation ceremony for the FIN Program interns who received placements in the year 2017-2018.
Everybody looked so happy!
There were incredible speakers. All of them – including a mentor, a senior manager, a refugee student from World University Service of Canada (WUSC – EUMC) and a former World Skills client – talked about the positive effect the program has had on their personal and professional lives in a way that made us proud once again of being part of this amazing initiative led by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
World Skills Employment Centre is very proud to partner with OCISO, Service Intégration Travail Outaouais (SITO), and Hire Immigrants Ottawa and of course IRCC to deliver this program for 8 years now.
We feel extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to support our clients as they pursue their goal of becoming public servants in Canada, a country that allows them – as one of the interns said in her speech:
“To be who they want to be and to grow until they become who they want to become”
Thank you FIN Program, thank you to the talented candidates and thank you to all the partners who collaborate to make this program a success!
