Read All About It! – World Skills First Virtual Job Fair Symposium 2021
Worlds Skills is recognized for hosting its Annual Job Fairs. With the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, the team quickly came together with an innovative idea to allow newcomers to participate while keeping safe. This year World Skills held its first Virtual Job Fair & Symposium with success!
The Virtual Job Fair was a three-day event from March 23 – March 25 with 2,316 registered attendees. The Job Fair was open to newcomer job seekers and employers, where attendees explored employment opportunities, connected with employers, and participated in various employment seminars.
World Skills Job Fair & Symposium was hosted on the VFair platform, which received over 27,000 views, allowing us to facilitate each session virtually and globally. With the expertise and assistance from Rob Probert and James Goodwin’s, we reached local newcomers and international professionals from 12 different countries looking to contribute to the Canadian labour market.
The Job fair wrapped up with a beautiful celebration bringing everyone together one last time. A moment filled with gratitude, music, and laughter! We have received positive feedback from clients and employers expressing appreciation for organizing an efficient and interactive online event.
World Skills is proud to be a leading organization in connecting newcomers to employment and supporting these highly skilled professionals with our services. Thank you to our guest speakers, employers, and community partners for your commitment to newcomers’ inclusion in the Canadian workplace! Shout out to the World Skills staff for all your hard work; congratulations on another successful annual Job Fair.
