Project Management Professional [PMP]® ToolKit for Success!

It is a well-known fact that project managers holding the Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification are well sought after by employers from both the private and public sectors.

As part of its commitment to create opportunities for its clients, World Skills Employment Center (WS) recently kicked off a pilot initiative called “PMP® Toolkit for Success.” A group of Highly Skilled Internationally Trained individuals with Project Management experience, who are interested in sitting for the PMP® exam, took advantage of the free-of-charge 35 hours of in-class virtual training that covers the PMP®  principles.

The initiative allows eligible participants to earn the 35 hours required by the Project Management Institute as a pre-requisite for sitting for the PMP®  exam through a mix of instructor-led classes, relevant case studies, guest speakers’ experience, and hands-on tasks that solidify the concepts covered in the program.

The program covers the following main areas:

  • Introduction to Project Management
  • Project Management foundational concepts
  • Understanding the three key domains of project management (people, process, and business environment)
  • Deep dive into the ten Knowledge Areas of project management and their mapping onto the tasks related to the three domains
  • Deep dive into the 49 processes of project management

Huge thanks go out to the program sponsor, The Royal Bank of Canada, the program champion Magdalene Cooman, the program initiator Fatima Saadeddine, the program facilitator Ouassila Riffad, and to the program’s participating clients.

Our appreciation and gratitude also go out to World Skills’ partner the Project Management Institute – Ottawa Valley Outaouais Chapter who generously supported the initiative and offered WorldSkills’ clients a free one-year membership with the chapter, along with access to all the chapter’s materials and advantages.

World Skills Employment Center wishes the program participants all the success with the program and, subsequently, with the PMP®  exam.
