“Addressing the Barrier of Canadian Work Experience” – Great event for World Skills’ clients
Yesterday – December 16, 2015 – World Skills hosted an event with the topic: “Addressing the Barrier of Canadian work Experience”. It was very well attended by close to 30 World Skills clients who interacted with the panelists representing some of our community partners: Catholic Centre for Immigrants, In-TAC, Volunteer Ottawa, and PQCHC-ITP Program.
The panelists talked about their respective organizations and how their programs and services can support internationally trained professionals (ITPs) improve their chances of finding employment by getting involved in different volunteering opportunities, networking events, and other initiatives such as mentorship, work placements, and internships.
Clients also had the opportunity to network among them and with the panelists and were very appreciative for the information received.
World Skills hosts monthly events on a variety of topics to engage newcomers looking for work and to provide them with valuable tools and resources to help them gain confidence and conduct an informed and efficient job search. Make sure to register with us to benefit from our various programs!
