Networking Event with Recruiters and Career Coaches

With the challenges that the pandemic has brought into our lives, so many things are still unclear. But it is certain that the job market will look very different in the foreseeable future.

Keeping this in mind, and to help newcomer jobseekers understand the steps they can take in the current scenario, we invited Recruiters and Career Coaches to speak with our internationally trained clients on March 03, 2021:

  1. Cary Herrera Sosa, Senior Permanent Placement Specialist, Newfound Recruiting
  2. Crystal Boudreau, Manager of National Partnerships, Altis Recruitment
  3. Marina Byezhanova, Co-Founder of Pronexia and Founder of InfluenceHR
  4. Steve Angelo Carungcong, Senior Recruitment Specialist, Eagle Professional Resources

The conversation was full of great advice and insights on how newcomers can navigate the labour market during the pandemic and beyond.

Cary spoke about the ways in which jobseekers can take the time to understand the types of roles and companies they wanted to be a part of and how they could get there.

Crystal offered useful advice for candidates exploring a career in the Public Sector. She talked about how newcomers can work with staffing agencies to land government contracts and the Security Clearance process for federal jobs.

Marina had some great tips on how to use social media platforms to not only build professional relationships but also our personal brand. She shared stories of her own journey as an immigrant to Canada and those of her clients and professional contacts.

Steve shared some great resources to help newcomers in their job search. He also spoke about the importance of using transferable skills to explore different sectors.
